Why
Become a Sponsor?
Each year over 1,500 young people participate in the Maryland
4-H Youth Horse Program. By becoming a sponsor, you will be
helping Maryland 4-H to create and enhance valuable horse
related programs that develop important life skills in our
youth participants. Life skills including responsibility,
decision-making, teamwork, and critical thinking help to enrich
4-Her's lives, increase their potential for success and empower
them to:
- Perceive and respond constructively to life events
- Apply knowledge to life problems
- Participate in an interdependent society
- Be self-directing and productive
- Lead a rewarding life
- Contribute to society
- Function effectively in a diverse and changing world
In addition to workshops, clinics, and contest conducted
at the county level, the Maryland 4-H Horse Program also conducts
statewide contests in Horse Bowl, Hippology, Communications,
and Horse Judging. The top senior individuals from each contest
head to Louisville, KY in November of each year to compete
against other states at the Eastern National 4-H Horse Roundup.
The quality of the statewide programs in Maryland is reflecting
in the outstanding placing of our state teams at the National
competition.
Sponsorships from private individuals and organizations are
critical to the success of our horse programs. Please consider
becoming a sponsor today!
